I just spent the last five days in Los Angeles–my old stomping grounds–shooting a video for a cabaret musical extravaganza…
The word has gotten out and the lyric video UP Productions created for Toxic Holocaust’s The Agony of the Damned is all over the heavy metal blogs and websites. Here are a few if you’d like to check them out (I’m even on my favorite metal blog, Metalsucks.net.)
One of the great things about running a business such as UP Productions is I have a unique opportunity to meet a lot of exceptionally nice people. This past weekend was a full and busy weekend with one highlight after another. One of those highlights was getting to meet and work with the husband and wife team behind Silver State Beefmasters, Inc., Dalton and Diane Lowery (and their whip-smart little 14-month-old grandson, Callon who loved pointing out all of the cows and bulls.)
They asked me to shoot a pasture video of their bulls for a video they send out once a year to prospective clients and buyers of livestock. It was phenomenal day spent in the beautiful little town of Fallon, Nevada doing what I love–shooting video.
I’m currently editing the piece together now but I hope this isn’t the last time I get to work with the Lowery’s.
I volunteered to help some fellow Carson City Chamber of Commerce members for an event tonight at the Nevada Governor’s Mansion here in Carson City, the state capitol. It’s a beautiful building built way back in 1909.
The Carson/Tahoe SPCA needed assistance with some of their audio/visual set up for the event so I volunteered my services to make sure everything went without a hitch. It should make for an entertaining evening.
I was recently invited by the kind people at the Make-a-Wish foundation to help make a young girls dream of the perfect birthday come true. This Saturday night UP Productions will be at the Altantis Casino Ballroom in Reno, NV to contribute, if only in a small way, to help this special young lady have the best Quinceanera she could imagine.
I feel blessed to be part of such a special and meaningful event. Many thanks to the Northern Nevada Make-a-Wish chapter in considering me for this amazing opportunity to help create a special memory for a special girl.

This weekend I’ve been spending some quality time in Janesville, CA with Garrick Pasini at one of his exclusive horse training clinics in the beautiful wooded mountains of Northern California. I met Garrick last year when UP Productions was advertising on the radio at KSUE/KDJX. He wanted to develop a horse training video specific to the hackamore-style of riding. Garrick and I were instantly on the same page with what he wanted and after a few months, we were finally able to get together and actually do some filming at his most recent clinic.
Horses are fairly alien to me, but if there’s one thing I believe I excel at is adapting to varied styles and subjects when it comes to producing videos for local businesses, organizations and individuals. Garrick ran a phenomenal clinic. The participants (all of whom I thank for allowing me to capture them on video) were thoroughly engaged, and even though many of them had been riding for years, exceedingly open to the expert instruction Mr. Pasini was offering.
Garrick and I have some special plans for his video and there’s a lot more work to do, but the process is already exceptionally informative for a neophyte such as myself, and most importantly, incredibly fun to shoot.
And Garrick, I promise we’ll go fly fishing before the Summer is over.

Continuing to engage in the world dominating power of UP Productions, I have procured the almighty car magnets to adorn the doors of my Prius whilst I ride around the great cities of Reno and Carson City. I made sure to go get the car a nice bath today before I actually stuck these to the sides of the vehicle–I want to it look nice and shiny.
Anyway, if you happen to see me driving around and you end up coming to my website as a result, tell me exactly where you saw me and I’ll give you a nice little discount on any video production work you may need.
I just received a special package in the mail filled with my all new business cards. Actually, they don’t look all that different from my previous cards other than the physical address change and the inclusion of the website URL. Still, I’m anxious to start handing them out to only the most distinguished and exclusive guests and patrons of UP Productions here in Carson City, Reno, Lake Tahoe and the surrounding areas including Minden and Gardnerville and Northeast California.
So if you have a wedding, special event, music video, local attraction, video advertisement, party or anything else you can think of that you need put to video in stunning HD and professionally edited at a reasonable cost, then you know how to get in touch now–my business cards shall lead the way.
The next step after getting my Nevada State business license was making sure to stop by my local Chamber office to join up. I’m a big believer in the Chamber of Commerce and what they can do for large and small businesses alike and since I’d had (and still do have) such a great experience working with the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce in Susanville, CA, joining the local Chamber in my new home of Carson City, NV was a no-brainer. They’ve already introduced me on their Facebook page.
I’m looking forward to my first Chamber mixer here in Carson City as I’ll have the opportunity to introduce myself and UP Productions and what I do to the entire mixer gathering. It’ll be a great chance to network and meet some fellow Chamber members and find out what their businesses are and how we can possibly work together and whip up some good business relationships.
Needless to say, I’m excited that UP Productions is now a part of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.
