It’s finally been released… SPOON by Sockweb! First premiering on Metal Injection via YouTube (where it’s already garnered over 23k views!), making it’s way to my favorite metal sites and blogs including MetalSucks and many more. And now, ultimately here… UP Productions. It’s the sequel to the widely popular song Werewolf (for which I did the first video) by father/daughter grindcore duo, Joanie “Bologna” Young and Adam “Blackula” Young.
Taking place last Summer, June 22, Rock the Wake 2013 was once again presented by The Lassen County Farm Bureau and organized by WIllis Dow and Susanville City Council member, Nick McBride. Willis and Nick are two gentlemen, very active in their community, who are definitely two of the nicest people amongst a plethora of nice people in the great little city of Susanville, CA. They put their hearts and souls into this endeavor (now three years running) every Summer. I’m honored to have been asked back again to produce this video them.
Here it is–the world premiere video for the father/daughter grindcore duo that is the glorious Sockweb–“Werewolf,” the title track from their upcoming album from Monolith Records (currently being mastered BY the master, Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer… possibly my favorite band of all time!)
First of all, what the heck is with all the sock puppets? Well, that’s a secret at this point. More to come later!
Second, the new debut album from father/daughter grindcore dynamic duo that is Sockweb will be release on August 6th and pre-orders are now LIVE!
Sockweb consists of the wunderkind seven-year-old Joanie “Bologna” Young and her coolest-dad-in-the-world Adam “Blackula” Young. Sockweb is an adorably brutal grind band to rival some of the best out there. Best of all, it’s a great means for a dad and his daughter to bond and simply have some fun together.
Introducing a new weapon in my arsenal for UP Productions–the DJI Phantom–a powerful, personal quadcopter drone for videography and photography.
There are a few great instrumental progressive metal out there–Pelican, Animals as Leaders, Scale the Summit, Blottled Science to name some. Now we can add a new band to this prestigious list.
I recently discovered set and setting from a blog post on my metal blog of choice, Metalsucks, and I instantly connected with their style. I was fortunate enough to be able to get into contact with co-owner and founder of Science of Silence Records, Tim Tatulli (a great guy) who recently signed set and setting to his label and I had the honor to create an official motion graphics video for the band.
Rock the Wake will once again be taking place in Susanville, California this year and UP Productions will be there to document the amazing professional wakeboarders in attendance.
Here are a couple of short clips from the recent May edition of Standing Room Only: Variety Hour produced by Michael Leon-Wooley, Kate Pazakis, Robert Lee and Kyra Selman. It took place at The Federal in the heart of the NoHo district in Los Angeles, CA. I was shooting a reality show for them and here are a couple of performances from the actual performance from Standing Room Only: Variety Hour.
Go “LIKE” Standing Room Only: Variety Hour. One of the best friends of my life, Robert Lee is a producer on the show. I had the pleasure of shooting video for their May show and it was a ton of fun. It’s an incredibly entertaining cabaret…
